Dietes is easy to strike from
seed and very easy to keep in the garden once it is
established. No special treatment is required and they do
not consume huge amounts of water.
The soil does not need to be
rich but they do not do well in compacted soil. So, as long
as the roots can breathe a little, you can plant and forget.
The strappy foliage bunches
well and stays all year round, as the herbaceous
perennials and annuals disappear over winter.
