Cymbopogon citratus
Lemongrass
Gramineae
A well known, clumping
grass with the unmistakeable aroma, this herb is easy to
grow and keep and so convenient to use.
Mainly used as a culinary
herb, the leaves and stems of the lemongrass are beneficial
to the stomach, and as an antiseptic. The essential oil
within the plant is useful for improving circulation
and muscle tone.
It can be dried but is best
used fresh if possible. Left alone in the garden it will
continue to reproduce itself indefinitely but it can be
grown in pots for convenience.
It can be grown from seed
but we have found that the root sets are very much faster to
become established and travel well through the post.
One trimmed root set $4.50
