Umbelliferae
Traditionally treated as an annual these long time relative of
the carrot are really quite showy in any garden.
Often mistakenly identified as Queen Anne's
Lace (Daucus carota)
they do share some of the same characteristics.
The dried seed is used extensively in India and some parts of
China as a treatment for skin disorders such as psoriasis and vitiligo
(acquired leukoderma).
We have never had the need to use the herb medicinally and keep it for it's
beautiful floral display.
The root should be avoided though as food or remedy.
