Brachychiton bidwillii

Brachychiton bidwillii is a highly variable species which can develop into a small tree on a single stem.
This Southern Queensland forms usually has deeply-lobed leaves.
It drops it's leaves before flowering.

As the plant ages, flower production increases, and after 8 years or so they will produce bunches of flowers
coming directly from the trunk, as well as the usual flowers on twigs and branches.
Like other brachychitons, B.bidwillii tolerates a wide range of soil types provided they are well drained.
All flower best in full sun, despite being 'dry rainforest' plants.
