Often called 'Lawn Chamomile' in England and Northern Europe, it will
actually create a beautiful, low traffic, lawn and can be best experienced
set into a stone or timber box seat. We have found that it does best with morning sun and
afternoon shade, does not like to dry out but does not like to have mulch
(Sugar cane or otherwise) under it's matt of foliage.
It spreads well, once established by runner, and quite quickly covers an
area with it's deep, apple scented carpet of green.
It seems to be at it's
most vulnerable while flowering, so we have found it best to harvest the
flowers frequently during the season.
