Ancient wisdom suggests that the saponins in Chickweed actually fade freckles and I guess it would be fun to try.

As a skin treatment herb it is effective. We use it on any skin irritation that is accompanied by itching.

As a tea it is a cleansing tonic and when taken occasionally and it can relieve mild constipation.

Be careful where you plant it as it self seeds very freely and if you are not careful it may occupy the space where your lawn was during winter. As suggested by it Folk name, it is highly prized by the birds. Chickens and caged birds love it.
