As a grass, it is naturally a close relative of the culinary herb
'Lemongrass' and the scent is also very similar, but although it is regarded
as a bush tucker, I would not use it instead of
C.citratus.
As a headache cure though, it is extremely effective.
A simple tea decoction is all that is required and it's action has been
likened to aspirin, in that it inhibits platelets clumping together.
The release of Serotonin regulates mood, appetite, sleep and muscle
contraction.
We have found it as hardy as Lemongrass to grow but it is considerably
smaller in clumps and therefore easier to keep and maintain. At last, another Australian Native plant can be included in the Materia
Medica.
