Musquee de Provence would have to be our favourite heirloom pumpkin.
It specialises in air acrobatics, climbing and fruiting over any obstacle.
Planted 5 or 6 metres from our grape arbour, it still managed to bear four fruit in suspension.
The pumpkins are very dark green when young but progressively change colour, (inside & out), until they reach a deep orange colour.
Fantastic for soup, pies or stuffing, Musquee de Provence keep well and long after harvesting and are easy to germinate and grow.
Germination is usually one to two weeks.
